Abstract:

My laboratory has been interested in using structural biology to address fundamental questions in immunological processes. In innate immunity, the important family of complexes, known as inflammasomes, activate inflammatory caspases to induce cytokine processing and pyroptotic cell death. In this presentation, I will focus on 1) assembly of inflammasomes 2) cellular localization of inflammasomes and 3) gasdermin D structure, function and inhibitor discovery.
